Some systems need a repair. Others have simply outgrown the job. How to tell the difference.

Draft equipment wears gradually, so problems tend to become normal before anyone notices them. These are the signs that a system needs more than another service call.

1. Foam problems that keep coming back

If pours are corrected and then drift again, the issue may be the system’s balance or cooling capacity rather than a single part.

2. Chrome-plated brass and worn components

Older faucets and couplers can wear, pit or stick. Stainless steel components resist corrosion and are easier to keep clean.

3. Old or damaged beverage tubing

Jumper and trunk lines do not last forever. Discolored, stiff or damaged tubing is harder to clean and can affect flavor.

4. You have added taps, or want to

A system expanded a faucet at a time may no longer be balanced or cooled for the load it carries.

5. Cooling that cannot keep up

Warm towers, a struggling glycol unit or a cooler that runs warm on busy nights all show up in the glass.

Assess before you replace

An equipment assessment looks at the condition of each component and how the system is used, so recommendations focus on what will make the biggest difference to reliability and quality.
